Dangal to Release Date in Pakistan & India – Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s much-awaited flick is all set to hit silver screens worldwide on tomorrow, i.e on Friday, 23rd of December, 2016. This biographical sports drama flick revolves around the life-journey of Indian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who trains his daughters to become wrestling champions. According to the recent report revealed from the distributors of the film, Aamir Khan starrer Dangal will be releasing in Pakistan on the same day when it will release in India. On Monday, cinemas in Pakistan started screening Indian movies; it happened almost over two months after film exhibitors and theater owners suspended it due to escalating tension between two countries following the Uri terror attack and cross-border- firing incidents.
Chairman of the Film Exhibitors Association, Zoraish Lashari, told that after going through a discussion with parties concerned, it has been finally decided that the screening of Indian films would resume from 19th of December. He also said that the Cinema Owners and other stakeholders in the industry have been strongly hit by the decision to impose a temporary suspension on screening Indian films in their country. A lot of investment has been made for building or upgrading newer multiplexes and small screen theaters and the business at this time is totally dependent on the screening of latest Indian films, he added.
Cinema owners & exhibitors had only taken a self-imposed exclusion of screening of Indian movies and that it was not a ban. They have taken this decision after the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association declared a ban on Pakistani artists and technicians who working in India. Because of the ban, it observed that Pakistani films including old and new releases, and some latest Hollywood films as well failed to fill up Pakistani theaters. Now, as per the source release, a private media group is presently trying to import and release most anticipated Indian film, Dangal in Pakistan.
